Urban List Road Tests our VitaLite Treatment

Could a needle in the arm improve my complexion? I spent a morning at Duquessa in North Carlton, Melbourne—one of Australia’s top beauty centres for medical and cosmetic treatments—trialling the treatment that everyone from Rihanna to Simon Cowell swears by.

What Should You Know Before Going?

First up, IV vitamin therapy is technically classed as a medical treatment, and not a cosmetic one—so you’ll want to make sure you book in with a reputable salon that offers a medically trained professional prescribing your treatment and wiring you up to your vitamin boost. To make the most of your time, it’s best to find one that also specialises in a treatment such as Omnilux light therapy, which uses ultra-safe LED light to encourage skin repair. I opted for a red-light Omnilux treatment to boost cell regeneration. That way you can have two treatments done at the same time.  Read the full post here. BOOK NOW

Vita-lite at Duquessa

This treatment will help you to get gorgeous skin and battle those nasty Winter colds at the same time. Duquessa is run by a registered nurse who administers an IV-vitamin drip to your arm. Since I haven’t had blood work done in years (lucky me!) we played it safe and just had a Vitamin C drip, but if you have had a blood workup done recently they can top you up on other vital vitamins that your body needs to be healthy. While the drip is in your arm (and you’re under a cozy blanket with a heat bag!) your face is cleaned and then treated with an Omnilux light. I left with a pep in my step and my skin glowing — plus, I haven’t been sick since (which is pretty impressive for me this time of year!). Fun fact: that’s my arm you see up there connected to the IV.  Read the post here. BOOK NOW
