WHAT ARE DOUBLE CHIN INJECTIONS?

Double Chin Treatments is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called “double chin.”
Our Double Chin treatment are a safe, non-surgical procedure, so your treatment is performed in the comfortable, welcoming setting of Duquessa Clinic Kew.

Before the treatment begins, any pain relief will be administered if appropriate in your case. Then, using a special grid, your Injection Specialist will carefully draw the boundaries for the injections on your skin. Your Injection Specialist will then use the temporary grid marked on your chin as a guide and give you 14-50 injections, depending on your particular needs.

Our Duquessa Double Chin procedure is simple and straightforward, taking roughly 20 minutes to complete. Then you’re on your way.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Double Chin Injections uses a formulation of a substance found naturally occurring in the body, which is synthesized and then used to break down and absorb dietary fat. This Double Chin treatment has been under development for more than a decade. When properly injected it has been shown to dissolve fat that causes a double chin. The result is a more streamlined and improved contour along the jaw line.

WHAT OTHER OPTIONS EXIST TO REDUCE SUBMENTAL FAT?

Prior to the introduction of Double Chin Injections the only effective options to treat submental fat were surgical. Our Double Chin Treatment is the only non-surgical option shown to treat the double chin.

Patients who have experienced weight gain after their treatment did not see the return of their submental fullness. However, we will have a better understanding about the impact of subsequent weight gain in the future when data becomes available from a broader range of patients who receive the treatment.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DOES IT TAKE?

Double Chin Treatment is administered by injections into the fat under the chin through a series of treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. The treatment plan is tailored to meet the individual needs of the patient. Katherine will determine the best regime during your consultation based on your age.

Typically results will appear within 4-6 weeks, and will continue to improve as additional treatments are administered.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?

There can be some bruising and swelling following Double Chin Treatments, similar to other injectables, and can last up to a week. The bruising can be easily covered with make-up as soon as the next day.
